HealthQuad Announces First Close of Fund III With ₹550 Cr Commitments

MUMBAI / NEW DELHI — Quadria Group-backed HealthQuad, a prominent early-growth healthcare venture capital investor in India, has officially announced the first close of its third fund, HealthQuad Fund III, securing commitments of ₹550 crore.

This milestone represents more than one-third of the fund’s total target corpus of ₹1,700 crore (approximately $200 million, with an additional $100 million greenshoe option). The capital pool saw strong participation from existing Limited Partners (LPs) who backed previous vehicles, alongside an influx of new LPs, including domestic and global fund of funds, prominent financial institutions, and family offices.

Anchoring the First Portfolio Bet on AI Healthcare

Coinciding with the first close, HealthQuad Fund III has deployed its maiden investment into Lifesigns, an AI-powered, wireless remote patient monitoring platform. The investment underscores the fund's core thesis of backing advanced digital interventions that solve real-world accessibility and clinical monitoring gaps across Indian healthcare institutions and homes. The fund management team noted they are actively evaluating several other proprietary deals to build immediate portfolio visibility.

Strategic Transition and Team Expansion

Fund III is managed by HealthQuad Advisors Private Limited, a vehicle now 100% owned and controlled by Quadria Group under the leadership of Dr. Amit Varma, Abrar Mir, and Sunil Thakur. The transition follows a mutual separation in 2025 from Belgian impact investor KOIS, with whom HealthQuad previously collaborated.

Quadria Group successfully retained the majority of its investment and advisory team responsible for the performance of prior funds. To prepare for the increased scale of Fund III, the firm has also bolstered its senior leadership by bringing on industry veterans Rahul Agarwal and Namit Chugh.

A Proven Track Record in High-Growth Segments

Incubated in 2016, HealthQuad has established itself as a leading force in India's medical investment ecosystem. Across Fund I and Fund II, the platform managed over $200 million in assets and backed more than 18 companies—many of which have emerged as sector pioneers. Notable previous investments include:

  • Qure.ai (AI-driven imaging diagnostics)

  • Redcliffe Labs (Digital-first diagnostics)

  • Wysa (AI-guided mental health)

  • Medikabazaar (B2B medical supplies platform)

  • GoApptiv, CureSkin, and Strand Life Sciences

Fund III aims to replicate this strategy by identifying early-growth stage disruptors across four primary segments: HealthTech, MedTech, Bio/Pharma Tech, and Novel Healthcare Delivery.

Navigating India’s $600 Billion Healthcare Horizon

According to internal research by HealthQuad, the segments targeted by Fund III are growing rapidly at an annualized rate of 16% to 40%. Collectively, these tech-driven health sectors are projected to account for over 40% of India’s estimated $600 billion healthcare market by 2030.

As India seeks to bridge deep historical gaps in infrastructure and care delivery, HealthQuad believes that technology-enabled, asset-light business models are the only sustainable path to scale access, reduce patient costs, and improve overall quality of care both domestically and across emerging global markets.
