Atomberg Early Investors and Founders Offload ₹683 Crore in Secondary Share Sales Ahead of IPO

Consumer electronics startup Atomberg's early investors, founders, and other key shareholders have offloaded shares worth approximately ₹683 crore through secondary transactions since 2019. The details emerged from disclosures in the company’s Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) filed ahead of its proposed initial public offering (IPO).

Unlike primary funding rounds—where capital raised goes directly onto the company's balance sheet—these secondary transactions involved share transfers between existing and incoming shareholders. The liquidity events allowed early supporters to cash out part of their stakes while facilitating an evolution of the company's cap table.

Major Sellers: A91 Partners Leads Liquidity Offloading

Early venture capital backer A91 Emerging Fund I LLP was the largest seller in these secondary cycles, offloading shares valued at roughly ₹445 crore. Another early-stage investor, Parampara Early Stage Opportunities Fund Series I, exited a significant portion of its holding by selling shares worth ₹116 crore.

Atomberg’s co-founders, Manoj Kumar Meena and Sibabrata Das, also realized partial liquidity:

  • Manoj Kumar Meena: Sold shares worth ₹40.2 crore

  • Sibabrata Das: Sold shares worth ₹31.4 crore

Together, founder share sales totaled ₹71.6 crore. (Note: As per the DRHP disclosure, ₹59 crore of promoter sales are subsumed within the broader ₹683 crore secondary figure.)

Incoming Institutional Investors

The shares sold by early backers and promoters were absorbed by institutional players entering the cap table. Prominent buy-side entities include:

  • Temasek-backed funds: Jongsong Investments Pte. Ltd. acquired shares worth ₹187 crore, while V-Sciences Investments Pte. Ltd. picked up ₹132 crore worth of shares.

  • Inflexor Ventures: Acquired a substantial chunk of the stake offloaded by Parampara.

In total, these secondary transactions encompassed 14 sellers and 19 buyers across multiple rounds.

Post-Secondary Ownership Structure

Despite liquidating ₹445 crore worth of equity, A91 Partners remains Atomberg's largest external shareholder.
