Marico Strengthens Health & Wellness Portfolio with 60% Stake in D2C Powerhouse Cosmix

MUMBAI, February 4, 2026 – Homegrown FMCG giant Marico Limited has announced the acquisition of a 60% majority stake in Cosmix Wellness Private Limited, a leading digital-first functional wellness brand. The all-cash deal, valued at approximately ₹225.67 crore, places the startup's equity valuation at ₹375 crore.

Strategic Rationale: Tapping into the Protein Boom

This acquisition aligns with Marico’s aggressive push to diversify its "digital-first" portfolio and capture the surging demand for plant-based nutrition in India. Cosmix, founded in 2019 by husband-wife duo Vibha Harish and Soorya Jagadish, has carved a niche with its "root-cause" approach to wellness, focusing on vegan, gut-friendly formulations and clean-label ingredients.

"The investment in Cosmix brings another strong and differentiated brand into our digital-first portfolio. We foresee immense potential in the wellness and plant-based nutrition space," said Saugata Gupta, MD & CEO of Marico Limited.

Financial Highlights and Growth Trajectory

Cosmix has demonstrated explosive growth while remaining bootstrapped and profitable since its inception:

  • Revenue Growth: The startup reported a turnover of ₹50.93 crore in FY25, up from ₹24.32 crore in FY24.

  • Current Scale: As of early 2026, Cosmix has hit an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of ₹100 crore.

  • Market Position: It holds the #1 bestseller spot in the plant protein category across major e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms.

The Road Ahead: Integration and Expansion

Under the terms of the agreement, the founders will continue to lead day-to-day operations to maintain the brand’s mission-driven ethos. Marico also holds the right to acquire the remaining 40% stake after FY29, subject to the achievement of specific performance milestones.

The capital infusion and Marico’s institutional support are expected to:

  1. Expand Product Lines: Scale beyond protein powders into adjacent wellness and nutraceutical categories.

  2. Enhance R&D: Leverage Marico’s manufacturing and research capabilities.

  3. Omnichannel Growth: While currently digital-first, the brand aims to strengthen its multi-channel distribution network.

A Growing Digital Empire

Cosmix joins a prestigious list of digital-focused brands acquired by Marico, including Beardo, Just Herbs, True Elements, and Plix. This move comes just weeks after Marico’s acquisition of the gourmet snacking brand 4700BC, signaling a clear intent to dominate the premium health and snacking segments in India.
